The Educational Services Department believes that effective behavioral support should not only help to reduce problem behaviors but should also change the opportunities a person has for learning new skills, for social inclusion, for access to meaningful activities and for basic participation in the local community.
The Educational Services Department conducts functional behavioral assessments and develops, implements and monitors behavior intervention plans and provides ongoing behavior consultation to address behavior excesses in the classroom. Although Advance Kids primarily provides services to children diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, over the last few years, we have expanded our behavior consultation to serve children across a variety of disorders including, but not limited to; ADD, ADHD, SLI, OHI, VI, and MD. In addition, we have increased the number of services we provide in the areas of staff training, general classroom consultation, and center-based services.
